Flew to Vancouver with my travel buddy Edward! We arrived at night to all the Olympic festivities.
Woke up early to attend our first event… Men’s curling round robin. We were both really excited.
The Canadian team!
The Olympic flame! It was so hard to get up-close ’cause it was so crowded.
Met up with Kathy afterward! She took us out for yummy beef noodles.
Spent the morning at Granville Island.
Canadian-themed everything everywhere…
Go Canada go!
Watched the victory ceremony at night. Didn’t get any nice photos but that’s okay ’cause Theory of a Dead Man sucked live.
Jacky flew in to Vancouver too so we met up :)
We watched Latvia vs. Slovakia
Jacky and a cute mascot :D Look at his Canadian flag mittens!
Met up with Andrew too! It was so nice seeing someone from back home in Vancouver :D He had an awesome time there too.
Omg, the HBC store was soo packed during the Olympics. They had to change store hours to 24 hours a day on peak days.
Woke up early in the morning for the best event I went to… Figure skating practice sessions! I’ve gotta say that they’re even better than the actual competition because you get more time with the skaters. Not to mention that my seats were fantastic.. I was only a metre or two away from a lot of them.
Got to see Tessa & Scott practice.. I saw them before the whole country knew they were as amazing as they are! Either this photo, or one of my other ones, got broadcast on TVO. I was so proud of that ;)
I love this pic!
I was most excited to see… YUNA KIM!!! Omg!
She was amazing – graceful and beautiful.
Overall, the Olympics were one of the best experiences ever. I’ve been to two Olympics in the past – the 2002 Salt Lake City and 2004 Athens Olympics – but this one has to be my favourite. It’s in my home country after all :) I urge everyone… Save up some money and attend an Olympics sometime in your life. It’s exhilarating. Truly a moment you will never forget!
